Moving and Grooving

Hello loverlies! I just finished moving into my lovely little apartment (which some will be coming to visit tomorrow:). I'm headed back over there shortly to start unpacking and a friend is going to help me paint a wall ridiculously red. I'm starting to feel a little relief now that most of the moving is done and finals are over, but alas...that whole trip to Europe is starting to faze me now:).

Here's a website that you guys can check out while I'm gone to get updates on my group (we're the Italy to Switzerland group) - I'll also update this blogger, or maybe just email, but this might be fun too:

sorry...i don't know how to make it a link:( i guess you'll have to do it the old fashioned way and type it in the browser.

Good Day in Winston

What a beautiful day we had for traveling to Winston! We had a good time, too. Grandma enjoyed visiting Aunt Myrtie, and vice versa. Aunt M isn't doing very well. Her back bothers her a lot, and she is very lonely down there all by herself. She sees her son Melvin once in awhile, but she isn't driving anywhere except to the post office or store in winston. If she needs to go to Roseburg for something, Melvin or his wife go and get her, but they do the trip and then take her back home and leave her alone again. We feel really sorry for her. But she won't consider moving to Eugene. I really don't know how much longer she can live alone there.

We saw lots of people we knew from the school, and that was nice, and we had lunch at the Winston park which brought back lots of memories of last days of summer when your Daddy was setting up his classroom and we'd go to help and play at the park for awhile, etc. It was pleasantly warm and Daddy had fun playing soccer with the kids. It was nice to have the two classes mingling and getting to know each other.

Tomorrow we go take some furniture to Joann for her new apartment. She's been sick. Hopefully she's feeling better now. She leaves Tuesday for Europe.

Love you all!
Marmie

Hot Days

Our days are full. All of us. Remember the days when we had time to stare at the stars, linger over family dinner, and sit in the living room with a book to share in the evening? I guess our days were full then too, weren't they? I'm just feeling challenged to revel in the moments I have each day. So many memories were built in those days. Every day had potential to be remembered fondly. Some of my days in recent years have seemed too pointless to remember. I want to be able to say "remember when?" about every day. Maybe it's the engagement speaking...or the upcoming departure of Joann for the trip of a lifetime...or the upheaval of Danny and Betsy's lives...maybe it's BLOG, whoever he is...

Ah...no more waxing philisophical tonight. I have memories to make!

Posting Photos

In order to post photos, I host them on my server, then create a link in my blog post (go to blog help and click on "posting and editing", then "How do I post pictures?" for a sample and instructions).

Speaking of photos, here is one from the shower on Friday.

Just thought you all might want a link to our website, hopefully I will be updating it with new prayer requests and updated information.

So, Bethy, how do you put the picture on?? Do you have to publish it somewhere and link to it? Or can you post it directly to the blog?

Yummy Visit!

Well, Mommy just left after a wonderful visit! Thanks for the pie!

Life is crazy here, trying to get everything done that needs to be done.

Our church is beginning a walk through "The Purpose Driven Life," will be interesting to see how God works.

Oh, great news from here, I wrote a check this morning to finish off the payments of our school loans!! We are now DEBT-FREE!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!

Love you all, back to work now!

Rhubarb Pie!

Can you believe that today I baked two rhubarb pies (they're in the oven now!) and that I'm going to Danny and Betsy's, too, and TAKING ONE OF THEM?!! I hadn't read the preceding blogs, so this must have been the Lord's doing!
I'm looking forward to being with some of my kids today. The week-end was good, but I was disappointed not to be able to visit with all of you more. I loved that Beth and Matt stayed and visited for a long time after. That was GOOD!
Love you all!
Marmie

Eight Days...

I concur about the pear desires, Bethy. MMMmmmm...I like pears, not as much as Mama's rhubarb pie though.

I'm on my way to visit Danny and Betsy today for a few hours - if I can figure out how to get there. I just realized that they didn't give me directions and I don't have their phone number!

Today is "dead day" at Fox, which means the day that i work and study and go to a meeting about checking out. So much to be done by Saturday at 9am (my checkout time). Best thing about today: will either be the feeling after I've cleaned my room, or the drive to Lebanon and dinner with a small portion of my family. Worst thing about today: will probably be the fact that there aren't 40 hours in a day:)

Oh...and eight days 'til I fly out::)) (double smiley face)
For some reason, I recently have found myself craving a ripe, juicy, Bartlett Pear each time I open our blog.

The best thing about yesterday? Matt had someone transport his dad's bulldozer to our place yesterday morning, so he got to play all day down in the canyon, and the end result is a nice, wide road that goes all the way to the creek. The next step? Put in a bridge! Soon all of our property will be accessible year-round! This is very exciting to us, by the way...

The next best thing about yesterday? That someone out there invented a little pill called "No-Doze". For the first time in weeks, we weren't sleepy at our evening church service (amazing, after a full day of labor)!

I'm on!

Well, after much difficulty...none of it my fault, of course...I am now on the BLOG with you all.

It was good to see you all yesterday at the wedding. I had a great time with the homemade mints and plastic forks.

Now I have to get to work on the sound board because everyone is arriving. I have to be MrsSoundmistress now! I love you! Happy Sunday!

"Picture this.

You're driving along in your car.
You have on your driving face.
You see two people walking.
One of them is animated and talking with her hands.
The other throws her head back in laughter.
Without even thinking 'happy' or 'sad', you discover you're smiling.

Happy is contagious."

Thoughts from 'home'

You all pray for me doing Erik's cake on Friday. I want it to be just what they want -- with no mishaps -- like sliding or falling layers, etc. While you're at it, pray that we'll have a safe trip tomorrow. I'll be praying for all of you as you travel to the wedding, too.

We had a good home group meeting tonight. The topic of the study was forgiveness. I was reminded that if we don't forgive others, God will not forgive us! Scary, huh? Makes me want to search my heart and see if there is anyone that I hold unforgiveness against....

See you soon!
Marmie
I am so happy that so many have decided to join my little blog. I am currently trying to teach myself some html so that I can personalize our look a little more. Stay tuned!

God Dag!

I love the Norwegian dates! A fun touch, Beth!

I'm gathering my cake decorating stuff for Erik's cake. 'Can't find my frosting knife, so I'll have to make do. Oh, well! I've done it before.

It's raining! I'm hoping for better weather to drive in tomorrow and for Saturday. 'Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Love,
Marmie

Joining in

Greetings!

I am officially diving into this thing called blogger. That's a weird mental picture . . . n-e-way....

All is well and a bit chaotic here. The goal is to get the invitations mailed out by Friday. It looks like most of them will be leaving then. I am still collecting additional addresses to mail to. I hope to receive them soon.

The new job goes well. I have yet to actually sell a car, but with all the additional training time and tax filing slowing things down the first part of the month, that is to be expected. I have today and tomorrow off to get caught up on some wedding tasks, mainly invites.

That is all for this edition.

G'Night!!

Hi all! Isn't this fun? I hope everybody can get it figured out (especially me), so that we can 'talk' once in awhile even when nobody else is around, or its too late at night to call anyone, etc. -- like now. It's actually time for sleep. Tomorrow will be busy for me getting cake things together for doing the wedding cake on Friday, deciding what to wear to the wedding and getting things packed, going to the storage unit to find my cake frosting knife, etc. Oh, how I wish everything was in one place - namely my own place!

Uncle Dave is coming to the wedding! Pray for him. It will be hard, but I think its good. He needs to be with people who care for him instead of isolating himself from his family.

I pray for all of you every day. May you have sweet dreams tonight, and a good day tomorrow. I plan to see you all on Saturday. I'm glad you'll be there.

And for you girls, happy shower! 'Wish I could be there, too!

Love you! Marmie
We just got done hosting our weekly fellowship group. I was forced to clean the whole house today, just in case we were asked to give a full tour (which we were!). I just love it when I have to completely clean the house. Then I have an excuse to REALLY, TRULY relax for awhile. At least until the clean-ness goes away, which it inevitably does sooner than later.

We are enjoying our new church very much. Fellowship Bible Church doesn't have it's own building, so we meet on Sunday nights in another church's building (at first I didn't think that I would like it, but my weekends seem so much longer now, and I get much more accomplished). The best part though, is our weekly meeting; having been involved in one other small group at Northridge, we truly have learned what we feel the church is supposed to be about- living in relationship with other believers.

Testing. . .

So, how does this work anyways???
Okay, so for example, we can use this to post current photos like...

Hi! Marmie here! I'm not sure how this works. But it sounds like it could be fun. I love you all!
I'm in! This sounds like a fun new way to experience family joys - especially while I'm in Europe this could be a handy way to keep in contact:) Okay...I have to go print some negatives that are due tomorrow...love you all
Helloooooooooo Family! I thought I would create a hip & fun format for us to stay in contact with each other. You know, to appease the guilt we may or may not feel from the fact that we don't talk on the phone as much as we maybe should...

Let me know if you need help getting set up.
